Chora Museum

The third most-visited museum in Istanbul. Considered one of the most beautiful examples of a Byzantine church, it was converted into a mosque by Ottoman rulers and became a secularised museum in 1948. The Anastasis fresco is a must-see.

Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts

Offers a rich collection of Turkish and Islamic artifacts and treasures. The extraordinary display of Turkish carpets, rugs and kilims is especially worth seeing. At the museum café, you can take a course in preparing Turkish coffee for 20TL, and receive a certificate.
